Welcome to the Oregon Pilots Association (OPA) New Website and Membership Management Platform

The OPA board of directors has been working hard to grow and modernize the association. This new web platform is one result of that effort.
As you will see, the forward-facing website part of the new platform is currently a bit basic, but we have decided to release it "as is", so we can take early advantage of some new features, such as:

  • Member profiles, including membership status, ability to edit and add information
  • Automatic renewal reminders and receipts, and easier payment options
  • Membership will be based on the date of renewal, rather than Jan 1st - Dec 31st
  • Access to members-only content
  • A new OPA chapters area, including chapter-specific webpages
  • ...and more!

As part of the launch, every member in our new database (current and lapsed) will have received an email with their new login name and temporary password. When you login for the first time, you will be asked to reset your password, and to update the information in your new membership profile.

Please note that we have changed membership types:

Member:
Individual membership, with all benefits and privileges.  $30 per year.

High School:
To encourage highschoolers to join the association.  Free after verification of high school status, per year.

Business Supporter-2:

This business membership allows companies to support OPA in its mission.  Benefits include company information (2-lines) on the website and in the Prop Wash newsletter. This is similar to the previous "Associate Member".  $75 per year.
Does not include OPA members voting privileges—individuals may also wish to join as member.

Business Supporter-1: This new business membership level allows larger companies to support OPA in its mission.  Benefits include your logo and other company information on the website and in the Prop Wash newsletter.  $275 per year.
Does not include OPA members voting privileges—individuals may also wish to join as members.

All existing Life Memberships will continue as before, but we will not be offering this type going forward.
Honorary Life Memberships may be appointed by the board in recognition of outstanding service to OPA and Oregon aviation.

Keeping Oregon Flying

The Oregon Pilots Association (OPA) was formed in February 1939 and as such is one of the oldest pilot associations in the country. The overriding goal of OPA throughout the years has been to "Keep Oregon Flying", by a balanced combination of legislative advocacy, safety education, community outreach and social engagement. These four elements act together to ensure that our airports stay open and accessible, and that our members continue to enjoy Oregon's amazing aviation opportunities. Members and chapters form the backbone of the association, and with more members we stand taller and our collective voice is louder. In this way, we gain in strength to represent you, Oregon's pilots and aviation enthusiasts, so thank you for your membership and continued support of the Oregon Pilots Association.

Stephen (Steve) Bateman, CFI

President, OPA
